Upgraded drive side axle end for the Mavic Comete disc rear wheel. Developed in collaboration with the Danmarks Cykle Union (Danish Cycling Federation) and Dan Bigham for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. These axle assemblies helped the team achieve numerous Olympic medals.

Specifications:

  • Replaces the factory drive-side axle end
  • Integrated chain tensioner system (this is removable)
  • The flat area on the axle keeps axles from rotating when tightening
  • Heat treated steel axle end
  • 7075-T6 aluminium chain tensioner component
  • 304 Stainless Steel hardware
  • 3D printed adjustment dial (colour may differ from pictured)
  • Standard M10 thread for axle nuts

    If you have a Mavic disc, you NEED this.

    Ingenious tensioner, that makes life so much easier. Long enough to manage tension at the extremes of an Avanti Pista EVO 2 dropout. Compact, light weight and precise. Cannot fault. Appears better quality than OEM axle ends too.

    Before getting this widget fitted to Mavic Comete rear disc found I was in a never-ending battle trying to get the tension just right.

    Fitting Velobike Mavic Comete Chain Tensioner to the Mavic Comete rear disc was simple requiring a couple of open-ended spanners and once fitted makes tensioning so ezzzyy.

    Not a hint of wheel slip even after full gaz sprint training sessions and races.

    Please, for info, the Mavic Comete Chain Tensioner is only for the right side of the sprocket?

    Hi Zdenek, good to hear from you. Yes, the tensioner sits on the drive side of the wheel. Only one unit is needed as any slipping of the wheel within the dropout occus on the drive side.
