I was use to open the app on my cell phone. Pièce of art.
Usually I have to use my phone or print out a piece of paper for my gear chart. This allows me to have something quick and easy to use, it is also really convenient to pair up with the pocket of the bag.
Its just one if those things where its not completely necessary. You could always print one out or have it on your phone, etc.
But if you are someone who appreciates the finely made things in life, you'll love having this. Such a lovely thing to hold or fidget with. Highest quality, as to be expected from VeloBike, plus it's pretty affordable. Didn't think I'd need it at first and now I can't imagine not having it.
This is super handy. I always ended up destroying my paper chart - tear them, spill something on them.... Don't have to worry about that now.
Velobike's gear chart card is fantastic! It's so hard to find gear ratio charts that cover what trackies really use which is chainrings over 52 at the least. In a neigh indestructable steel card, it's far better than a paper printout and can fit in a wallet. Thank you Velobike for making something I didn't even know I needed to have until now.

Was a bit of a novelty gift, but I ended up keeping it for myself. I actually use it all the time when I'm messing around with the track bike or road bike..

Why multiply by 27?
Great question! Before ISO tyre sizing, road and track wheels were normally categorised by nominal diameter, of roughly 27 inches once a tyre was fitted. So multiplying by 27 lets riders compare gearing independently of tyre width, rim depth, etc.
Even though modern tyres have slightly different real diameters, the industry kept the 27-inch constant because It provides an easy universal baseline and stops everyone having to recalculate ratios when rim/tyre sizes change.
